This is an excellent buy and five star item.Allergy season in 2020 was terrible for me. I woke up in late March with severe symptoms such as red itchy eyes, itchy throat and minor congestion. It was pretty miserable to say the least. Allergies are typical for me around this time of year but this season it was much worse than normal.I had my suspicions that my HVAC air filter (recently changed two weeks ago) wasn’t filtering the air sufficiently to get rid of pollen in the air. I had a top of the line disposable filter that said it would filter pollen and other irritants. It was obvious I needed a better filter, and while I was at it, I figured I would conduct a thorough cleaning of the blower wheel while I was at it. The area where the airInstallation was a snap. It took me a few hours disassembling the fan assembly, vacuuming and rinsing the dusty parts. I did all that and reassembled the fan unit. Upon reconnecting everything and turning the heater on, I was blown away by the amount of air coming through the system. You could clearly hear the increased air flow and it warmed up super fast. No exaggeration here when I say that the air coming out of the vent felt twice as strong. My wife said the same thing and suggested that we might be able to save some money by not running the heat as long. That is one of the selling points that Wingman mentions in it’s literature and I find no reason to doubt that. This morning when I woke up (and to my amazement), my sinuses were clear. No red eyes or throat irritation. I could breathe a lot easier with no hint of congestion. I can only attribute the improved cleaner air with this air filter. I’m impressed and thought I would encourage others to purchase this unit.I will update this review and grab some photos when it’s time to change the filter in a few months.

I bought this product after my yearly HVAC inspection revealed that my condenser coil was dirty and the cheap fiber filters just were not cutting it no matter how often I changed them. At the same time I really did not want to use the pleated filters that might reduce airflow and tax the fan. My HVAC company kindly offered a similar solution that they charged about $700 for with filters being somewhere around $100 a piece. Enter Wingman. My system had some issues with the install where the filters put in were not really a standard size. I contacted the manufacturer and they kindly assisted me in selecting the correct size for my system. I had to really negotiate the filter into my system mainly due to the system design rather than the filter itself. However, the one reason I am knocking off one star is that while doing this I found the wingman kept popping open making it necessary to take the whole filter out, press it together again and try to reinstall, having to typically repeat around 4 or five times until I got the thing installed intact. It seems like the Velcro holing the filter together is a little on the weak side. After maybe 2 or 3 changes (filters have been lasting 2-3 months), I added additional Velcro commands strips along the frame and this issue has disappeared.I really have seen the value of this during home renovation. There was alot of fine dust from sanding down walls and this filter caught so much. Other than the one negative above I have been completely happy with this filter and have had it in place for about 14 months. I am hoping it reduces the cost of ownership of the system while prolonging the life of the components.

Before construction we had 1 HVAC with electrostatic filter. Serviced once every 6 months. After construction and with an additional HVAC in the attic (miscommunication meant no electrostatic filter) our new system struggled with paper filter as dirty filter reduced flow to the furnace shutting it down every 3-4 weeks. In addition the system struggled to maintain constant temperature between old house/new addition. Then we installed this. Quickest solution without calling an HVAC contractor to install a Honeywell electrostatic which was our preference.1. Airflow significantly improved house temperature fluctuations between old and new house and cold/hot spots were longer an issue2. System was able to stay operational even though the filters needed replacing (eventually it will fail).3. My original HVAC system now only lasts 3 months before it too will stop working. I’m still changing the green pads every 4 weeks but all the airflow issues with old house vs new addition have been resolved4. My second unit is running 2/3 of the time it did prior5. Need more proof, the photos are of different sides of the filter after I removed it. It was very fine power dust and I needed to clean the casing as well as replace the green filter. One note: make sure one of the green filters is tucked under the electrical supply such that electrical charge is fed to the sandwiched insert. Also that the metal insert is the correct way round. Without this it’s definitely not going to work properly.

It was just a couple weeks when I noticed I had no dust in the air floating around when I opened my front window. Most days it looked like I live in fairy land full of fairy dust. I had to shake a blanket just to prove my eyes were not playing tricks on me. It appeared when I shook the blanket. I decided to dust all my shelves, pictures, and nick nacks. It has been a couple weeks and I still don’t see dust build up. It is usually needing redone in less than a week. A local Hvac company wanted to charge me almost $700 for a similar product. So glad I found this great alternative at a much more affordable price.
